Pathways to Work

Caryll, 52, had stopped working due to a back operation prior to joining the TNG Pathways to Work programme. She had been working as a Home Care worker with an NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care.

Angela, 34, joined the TNG Pathways to Work programme.  She was worried about going back to work as she had been let down by her previous employer and had to go through the process of collecting her benefits again.  Although she was apprehensive about returning to work, she was still actively looking for employment.

Celia, 45, had been claiming Incapacity Benefit and was suffering from depression due to working in a stressful office environment for many years, prior to joining the TNG Pathways to Work programme. She was struggling to cope and could not leave the house to go outdoors.

Deborah was in receipt of income support with a disability premium when she joined the TNG Pathways to Work programme as a mandatory customer. She was still employed as a Kitchen Assistant in a local secondary school but was off sick due to a back injury.

Laura, 36, had been off work for with depression for a year and was made redundant as the company she was working for had been bought out. This was a really difficult time for her as she has been with them for nineteen years and had progressed to become a buyer. Prior to joining the TNG Pathways to Work programme, she was unemployed for six months and claiming Incapacity Benefit.

Richard, 46, was an HGV driver until he was involved in an accident which was not his fault. He became depressed and decided he wanted a career change.

Rose, 41, was unemployed due to ill health. She joined the TNG Pathways to Work programme as a voluntary customer at Congleton where she was appointed a Personal Job Adviser, Julie. She was receiving NI contribution after being out of the country for two years so was extremely keen to get back into work.
